A wise man once said it’s the age of information and data could be a trigger for the next war. With the world more “connected” and people glued to their smartphones, misinformation has been spreading like never before. People are pulled into a whimsical whirlpool without any consciousness. World is getting more divided on opinions and not trying to apprehend other’s views.
There is no scope for a healthy discussion anymore as people are adamant to come to common ground for exchange of opinions and compromise. We are moving far from being a plural society. Idealogical battles are further fuelled by the biased information that is fed repeatedly not getting a view of what is on the other side of the coin. Sad that the educated class is the first one to fall prey.
Political systems with vested interests are dragging the whole society into a chaos unknowingly. There is a lot of influence on what you are being shown as a suggestion and opinions that are being pushed upon very gently depriving you of your judgement and consciousness. Hate campaigns in social media has taken a whole new level with both parties not heeding an ear to the other with supremacy of the majority creating an unintended insecurity amongst the minority.
Recent trends show that that so called keyboard arriors are giving trial on basis of absurd information present be it in news media or social media. People forget that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. One absurd information can create a very bad impression which is indelible. Moral policing done by the people who are just mirror image of the ones standing on trial. One wouldn’t know the ill effects of misinformation unless one becomes of a victim of it. Internet can make you a star overnight or crumble you for never to recover.
